I currently do all of this in Windows 10, but if the best solution is a bash script or linux-based, that’s fine too. The re-encoding part should be simple to script, but included it in case anyone was aware of an all-in-one solution / script. I briefly looked at MCEBuddy, but don’t want to purchase a license to get it unless I know it works and seems to be the best option. Plex does have an option for removing commercials, but on the one show I tried it on, it failed to remove any of them. It doesn’t matter to me if Plex, WinTV, or another app records the shows. In addition to auto importing, the ability to remove commercials and re-encode to a more efficient codec would be great too. My primary question is: What is the best solution (if any) which anyone has found which would automatically see and import a recorded show into Sonarr as if it were downloaded? The Drone Factory option would come in handy here, but a bit apprehensive to use it since I don’t know if it will disappear in upcoming releases. The Plex DVR option has the ability to add it to my TV Show library, yet does so in it’s own defined path plus is a large file size using. I’ve already played around with it a bit and have successfully recorded shows via schedule within it’s own software (WinTV 8.5) as well as the Plex DVR option. As always, I wanted to start thanking those who work on this software - I’ve used it for a long time now and it’s fantastic!Ī couple of days ago, I purchased a TV Tuner (Hauppauge WinTV Dual) which I obviously installed on my primary workstation - the same one which hosts Sonarr, Plex, and many other things.
